Swing

      A joy that is little

     A time that is sweet

     Wings for small feet.

Up and up feel the wind

     The spirit flies

      The body bends

      To fly higher.

      No worry, no fray

      Laughter falls free

      Hold the rope tight

      And believe that

     Heights can be reached.

     Slowing down, look around

     Safely land the plane

     Another day another flight

On just the wind, and a swing.

  1. This is a wonderful poem that captures exactly what it is like to aim higher and higher with all of our might the way we did as a child. The photograph of the swing with the worn trails underneath is a testament to many little feet. We know for sure that they were there.
